From Paris, many airlines offer daily flights to Port Louis, the capital of Mauritius. By booking well in advance, round-trip tickets can be purchased for around 1000\u20ac. The average flight time is 11 to 12 hours (non-stop), with a time difference of 3 hours in winter and 2 hours in summer.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

With a tropical climate and water temperatures ranging from 20\u00b0C to 27\u00b0C, Mauritius is an enjoyable destination year-round.

The island experiences two seasons, which are opposite to those in the Northern Hemisphere: a rainy season and a dry season.

The austral summer, from November to April, is hot and humid, with average temperatures between 27\u00b0C and 33\u00b0C. It\u2019s the season for storms, rain, and cyclones (which are rare in Mauritius).

The austral winter, from May to October, is drier and windier, with average temperatures ranging from 17\u00b0C to 25\u00b0C.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Where to stay in Mauritius?<\/h5><\/div>

Although Mauritius is best known for its luxury beachfront hotels, there are also options for staying in villas, bed & breakfasts, guest houses, or glamping. In general, it\u2019s recommended to choose accommodation on the west or northwest coast of the island, which are sheltered from the winds of the east coast.

The northern coast is the liveliest and most touristy part of the island. You’ll find numerous hotels, restaurants, bars, and nightclubs between Trou aux Biches and Grand Baie. Stretching nearly 3 kilometers from Trou aux Biches to Pointe aux Canonniers, Mont Choisy Beach is the longest beach in Mauritius. In Trou aux Biches, the coral reef is just 250 meters from the beach, making it one of the best spots for snorkeling.

On the west coast, the sunsets over the sea provide a constantly renewing spectacle. With its wide, beautiful sandy beaches, Flic-en-Flac is the most touristy village on this side of the island. There\u2019s also Tamarin for surfers, Rivi\u00e8re Noire, and La Gaulette, a small fishing village.

In the southwest, Le Morne is a small peninsula that offers pristine beaches, shallow waters, and some of the island’s most luxurious hotels. The reef is located just a few meters from the beach, making it ideal for diving and water sports like kitesurfing.

The southern part of the island is wilder and more suited for nature lovers. For beaches, head to the southeast (Mah\u00e9bourg and Blue Bay) or the southwest, around Le Morne.

Located in the southeast of the island, near Mahebourg, the village of Blue Bay offers stunning views of \u00cele aux Deux Cocos. With its turquoise waters and a protected marine park area, Blue Bay is the perfect spot for diving and organizing glass-bottom boat excursions.

On the east coast, Trou d’Eau Douce allows for a visit to \u00cele aux Cerfs, while Belle Mare is a more secluded spot, perfect for watching beautiful sunrises.<\/p><\/div><\/div>
