Location: Located in southwest Africa, Namibia shares borders with Angola, Botswana, South Africa and Zimbabwe. It covers an area of around 825,000 km².

Official languages: English and several Bantu languages, including Afrikaans

Currency: Namibian dollar (NAD) – approximately 16 NAD for 1 euro

Time difference: – 1h in winter and – 2h in summer

Flight time: Approximately 10 to 12 hours on average

Health: No vaccinations are required, but some are recommended, notably against hepatitis A, typhoid fever and yellow fever. Preventive measures against malaria may be necessary in certain regions.

Entry formalities: A passport valid for longer than the duration of your stay is required. Nationals of many countries, including the European Union, can enter Namibia without a visa for tourist stays of less than 90 days.

In your suitcase: an adaptor for D and M type plugs, sun cream, a hat or cap to protect you from the sun, light, comfortable clothes for the heat, warmer clothes for cooler evenings.
