Description

Madagascar is a destination apart. An immense island where each region seems to belong to a different universe.

Along the legendary Route Nationale 7, landscape follows landscape: rice paddies sculpting the hills of the Highlands, tropical forests populated by lemurs, tea plantations, granite cliffs, the ochre canyons of Isalo and fishing villages lining the lagoons of the South.

Accompanied throughout by an English-speaking driver-guide, you’ll discover an authentic and endearing Madagascar. Stops have been chosen for their environmental quality, charm and character, alternating local immersion, grandiose nature and moments of relaxation by the water.

Days 1 to 3 – Antananarivo & the Highlands

Arrival in Antananarivo and first night near the airport.

Next day, departure for the Central Highlands. Landscapes of rice paddies and hills gradually reveal themselves along the way. Along the way, you’ll discover the aluminum workshops of Ambatolampy, before immersing yourself in a rural village where daily life still follows the rhythm of the seasons.

Days 4 & 5 – Ranomafana

The route continues to Ranomafana National Park, classified as one of Madagascar’s most beautiful tropical forests.

Accompanied by a naturalist guide, you’ll set off in search of the lemurs, chameleons and endemic birds that inhabit this luxuriant jungle. It’s a must-see if you want to discover the island’s incredible biodiversity.

Day 6 – Sahambavy and the tea plantations

Head for the rolling landscapes of Sahambavy.

In the heart of the green hills lies Madagascar’s only tea plantation. A peaceful interlude in an undiscovered region, where time seems to stand still.

Days 7 & 8 – Tsaranoro and the granite cliffs

Change of scenery in the Tsaranoro valley.

Dominated by impressive granite cliffs, this region offers some of the most beautiful scenery in southern Madagascar. Visit the Anja reserve to observe the famous catta lemurs, then hike through the wide-open spaces of the valley.

Days 9 & 10 – Isalo

The journey takes us to one of the country’s most emblematic sites.

The Isalo massif reveals a spectacular backdrop of canyons, rocky plateaus and hidden oases. The hikes take in natural pools, grandiose viewpoints and formations sculpted by erosion.

Days 11 to 13 – Ifaty

After the mineral landscapes of the south, it’s time for the ocean.

Ifaty’s long, filao-edged beaches and protected lagoon are a delight. Between swimming, discovering the Reniala reserve and meeting Vezo fishermen, this stage invites you to slow down.

Days 14 to 19 – Nosy Be & the northern islands

Flight to Nosy Be to round off the trip in style.

From your charming lodge, explore the archipelago’s most beautiful islands: Nosy Iranja and its famous sand spit, Nosy Tanikely and its marine reserve, and Nosy Komba and its lemurs.

The rest of the time, enjoy the beaches, sunsets and relaxed atmosphere of the island.
